Very knowledgeable narrative about local court system and it's failings.Particularly of interest to Massachusetts residents because of references and descriptions of Boston landmarks. This was a very good read and I look for more of the same from this author.Product details

As a Boston native I can vouch for the accuracy of the setting of this novel. It is a skillful tale even if a little over the top for Boston. Maybe in the old days but not now. However it is and enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this book, which I guess would be called a legal thriller. The Boston setting is portrayed accurately, and I could visualize Beacon Hill and Faneuil Hall as the characters were in those areas.
BUT - the editing was horrible, and shows the downside of spell-check with many errors like "waived" instead of "waved." There were several cases where the way the paragraphs were laid out it wasn't clear who was speaking. And in one scene the main characters went to have a drink at Faneuil Hall, then were inexplicably back in the office but finished the scene by actually returning to the office from Faneuil Hall. A good proofreader was needed; I found the many errors to be irritating and they took away my enjoyment of the book.
If McLellan writes any more fiction I'll make sure to check it out.
